The Speedway

About RPM:
RPM stands for Rolling Plains Motor Speedway. The racetrack facility is a 3/8 mile high bank clay oval dirt track. The track schedule runs from April through October with races on Saturday nights. The race track brings in URSS 305 Sprint, IMCA Modified, Stock, Hobby Stock, Sport Compact, and Northern Sport Modified races. The grandstand has a seating capacity for more than 4,000 people, with restrooms and concessions located on the grounds.

Where is the speedway?
1344 Fairground Road. From anywhere in Hays, just drive onto I-70 heading west and you will drive to Exit 157. Exit off and take a left over the bridge until the RPM Speedway sign. Follow the signs to the raceway. See image below.

How much does it cost?
Generally the cost for general admission is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 12-5. There are options to enter the V.I.P booth or the pit area, the cost for that is $25.00 per person.

When are the races and what time does it start?
To see when each race is, please see the Schedule tab located above. As for race times, the pit area opens at 4:30p.m. and the grandstands open at 5:30p.m. Drivers will practice and run hot laps until the start of the race, generally 7:30p.m.

Other information:
You will probably want to wear some clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and you will want to bring some type of eye protection, sunglasses or safety glasses. The wind seems to always blow the dirt from the track to the stands, so be prepared to get dirty. Again, there are restrooms and a concession stand available next to the grandstands.
